Thank you for visiting the Joyful Journey 123 blog. It’s great to have you here! My name is Naomi. I live in Brisbane, Australia with my husband and 2 beautiful children. We’ve been on our homeschool adventure for a year and a half, but I’ve been interested in homeschooling for a long time. Apart from homeschooling, I am a children’s ministry worker at my local Christian church.
A little about my life before our homeschool adventure ~
Before becoming a home school mum, I was an English language teacher. I started out teaching adult learners in Australia, including new migrants and refugees. When our family relocated to South Korea, we ran an English language school for children, specializing in reading and speaking. Our school was called Joyful English Club. We chose this name because we wanted our students to learn through interactive activities that would make learning fun. Isn’t it so much easier to learn something when it’s fun and engaging?!
Where it’s at now ~
Our homeschool adventure began upon our return to Australia. Joy continues to be a key focus in the education of our own children. You might agree that our modern world can be a crazy busy, and slightly confusing place. We‘re thankful, that amid this modern reality, we can focus on making our home a place to learn and grow. A place we can rest. A place where there is time to connect with each other, with loved ones and with our awesome Heavenly Father.
